DEA Take Back Day a Success

It was a beautiful day marked by strong community spirit and an excellent turnout as participants

gathered in support of this important event, hosted in cooperation with the I-Kan Regional Office of Education's Life Education Center.


The even brought together a wide range of dedicated partners committed to promoting health, safety, and wellness across the region. Special thanks go to State Representative Jackie Haas, Riverside Healthcare, KAMEG, Hippocrates Medical Clinic, the Bradley Lions Club, and Georgie’s Closet for their collaboration, generosity, and continued support of community-focused initiatives.


A significant highlight of the day was he safe collection for disposal of approximately 800 pounds of unneeded and unwanted medications. This effort plays a vital role in preventing misuse, protecting the environment, and keeping homes and communities safer.


Throughout the day, attendees engaged with resources, connected with local organizations, and shared in meaningful conversations centered on prevention, education, and community care. The atmosphere reflected a shared commitment to making a positive difference, strengthened by both strong attendance and active participation.


Organizers expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and partnership that helped make the event a success, noting that collaboration across agencies and community groups remains essential in expanding outreach and impact.


With such a strong showing and dedicated network of partners, the event served as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when the community comes together with a common purpose.
