Pledge for Life Partnership announces Best Practice winners

The following teachers are winners in the Best Practice Contest for the 2005-06 academic year.  The contest is sponsored annually by the Pledge for Life Partnership to recognize Kindergarten through sixth grade teachers who develop projects and activities to reinforce the lessons taught in the Life Education Centers’ K-6 Wise Highs curriculum. 

Monetary awards of $100, $50 and $25 are given for first, second and third place respectively and were presented at the Pledge for Life Partnership’s annual meeting October 26 at the Kankakee Country Club.

Kindergarten: 

First place, Deborah Adams, Aroma Park Elementary School; second place, Nancy Mansberger, St. Anne Elementary School and Chris Sutherland, St. Anne Elementary School; and third place, Cindy Orwig, Chebanse Elementary School..

First Grade

First place, Kristine Pelletier, St. Anne Grade School; and second place, Becky DeVries, St. Anne Grade School.

Second Grade

First place, Linda Ailey, Donovan Elementary School; second place, Joyce Dorsey, Crescent City Grade School; and third place, Mary Talbert, Gilman Elementary School.

Third Grade

First place, Kathie Both, Donovan Elementary School; second place, Cynthia Veronda and Cynthia Palmer, Kennedy Middle School in Kankakee; and third place, Cheryl Bevis, Maternity B.V.M. in Bourbonnais.

Fourth Grade

First place, Mary Ann Bicknell, Liberty Intermediate School in Bourbonnais; second place, Maureen Antognoli, King Middle School in Kankakee; and third place, Carol Runner, King Middle School in Kankakee and John Snipes, Liberty Intermediate School in Bourbonnais.

Fifth Grade

First place, Barb Hensley, Kennedy Middle School in Kankakee; second place, Wendy Dabney, Liberty Intermediate School in Bourbonnais; and third place, Jody Munsterman, Crescent City Grade School.

Sixth Grade

First place, Sharon Brough, John L. Nash Middle School in Clifton; second place, Eugene Wachholz,  St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Kankakee; and third place, LeeAnne Brandt, Kennedy Middle School in Kankakee.
